A) The statute of limitations is absolutely expired if this was a theft, But you really don't know/

B) I believe in donating to museums very much but only after they put a dollar value in writing of the particular item, generosity is well favored but so are income tax deductions.

C) Is it at all possible that maybe the star chart painting was meant to be given away but the photograph was meant for you to let you know you ave power enough, are big enough and can carry load enough to supply all of the needs of a division of troops thousands of miles away regardless of what the rest of your family thought.

In short only you can decide which was the gift in the will the painting or the photograph. You may have thought her clinically "nuts" but it's possible she was one sly old fox in the hen house.
