Have you heard of this boy? 1.9 million years ago, a 9 year old boy was searching for water with his mother and fell into a cave. And just a few months ago, he was found by another 9 year old boy. This mother and son will change the way we think about our evolution.
Amazing.
I follow a number of Archeology and Anthropology sites (I'm a geek, what can I say.) and I can tell you that this discovery has their whole world atwitter. It's an amazing story. And, at the same time, it's also the echo of a long ago tragedy, where mother and son died, together. I know it's hard to feel sorry for an event that happened almost 2 million years ago - but nonetheless .....

I feel sorry for their tragedy, too. It's like the veil was lifted for a brief moment, illuminating the personal aspects of history. What an amazing discovery!
