Baby steps.

At the desk, 9:06 a.m.

This morning, I got up at 5 a.m and went out for a walk.

It doesn't seem like a big deal.

In fact, it's probably not a big deal.

But to me, it's the first baby step toward attempting to get my fitness back.

As you know, I've been sidelined with this ancient back injury for about six months. The back injury is less painful and I'm getting the treatment I need to overcome it. It's time to take the risk of exercising again.

I got up.

Shook off the "I can't do it" blues. Got dressed, got Rose dressed, woke up the husband, and out the door we went.

Compared to what I have done in my life, we didn't do much. But considering that it's lettuce planting Monday, it's a lot for me.

Today.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll be able to do more.

But today, I'm back at the starting line.
