Knocked the thoughts right out of my mind...

At the desk, 8:37 a.m.

I'm having one of those days.

I was in the middle of making smoothies when I went down to the basement to get some more frozen berries. Of course, I picked up the towels and carried them down to the wash. Once the towels were in their proper place, I couldn't for the life of me remember what I was down there for.

Of course, the basement didn't know and our resident basement ghost, Art, only speaks Russian or Yiddish - languages I don't speak.

I happened again with this post. I started to write a post, then got up to make some toast. Once back at the desk, I had no idea what I was saying.

A lot of people say this is something that comes with age, but honestly, I've always been this way. Plus, research shows that this kind of "door nob amnesia" is a symptom of being human. We all do it.

But I don't like it much. I have a variety of reminders from stickies to ToDoist to actual post its, calendars and lists. These help keep me on track, but once the wind blows in a certain direction, I forget.

It usually means it's time to get writing. The characters are tapping at my brain saying "Isn't it my turn?" "When are you going to get to us?"

So that's where I'll turn my attention today.

And who knows? Maybe it will help.

...ah shit... I forgot to post this post! UGH!
