I think if you make your own hamburgers at home, with real meat, they would rot...I remember reading somewhere (and I can't remember who posted the article, it might even have been you!) that they treat those with some chemical like ammonia?? EEEEEW.

They talk about it in the other link - to actually see the buns rot. ;) They have to soak the hamburger in ammonia because they slaughtering is so imprecise. What's amazing is that people eat it anyway.

I think fast food is the collective problem of the industrialized world. Before Colonel Sanders and especially burger joints that reprocess everything from what it was to what they sell came along we usually could work our differences out through negotiation and diplomacy. Now it's kill or be killed.

I stopped eating that stuff a couple of years ago a couple of cheating times cuz I needed carbs quick for my glucose was low) and I feel a hell of a lot better---not nicer mind you just better.

It's very much a time of 'GIVE ME DA MONEY'. Crazy too because what are you going to do with the money if there's world to live in?
