I've heard much worse names than Metta World Peace. My late ex-husband once attended a party in NY at which a young woman approached him, held out her hand and said brightly, "I'm Fonda Cox." "How nice," he replied.

It turned out her father, a professional military man, had convinced her mother that "Fonda" was an old family name. And of course we've all heard of "Ima Hogg."
