Harvest

harvest

I went out to my garden yesterday morning to harvest what was ripe. The bounty had such amazing colors – red, purple, yellow, orange, and green tomatoes! Purple and white eggplant! Yellow cucumbers! Lime green squash! Amazing.

It made me wonder what bounty you’ve harvested this week. Let me know so that we can celebrate together!

I harvested more days from the calendar and that is almost as colorful as your bounty OG. Enjoy the first fruits.

My harvest was a little different – smile from a four month old, enticing conversation with a grandmother, well received coaching call and general epiphanies brought about by tossing a ball to a very happy dog.

And you’re harvest is beautiful too.

La Shae – That’s a lovely harvest! Nothing better than the smile from a four month old balanced by a conversation with a grandmother. Lovely II often receive my greatest epiphanies from my dog!

Jameil – I love eggplant too. I read somewhere that it’s a common lust for people who don’t eat enough fat – just a thought. We’ve grown a lot of eggplant – and we eat every single one!

    So! How are the children?

This is my harvest for today. I always end my posts with “Ndinombethe”. It’s an African proverb, and it means “As I go, I am wearing you.” I contend, as I have always contended, that being out here, on the Internet, blogging, gives us a chance to interact with so many more people than we otherwise would – and that each of those people we select to be in our ‘sphere’, leaves a mark, an impression, an effect. What I learned here has affected me. If you don’t mind, I would like to share this bit of Masai tradition with my readers. And yes … all the children are well.

Hmmm…..my harvest has been a little thing these days. I did score a hardback book I’ve been wanting though. It was at Costco for $17 instead of $30!
