“If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.
If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.”
As I watch the violence spill out of Iran, and know that this kind of violence continues in my own city, I can’t help but feel sad, powerless and ineffective. It’s only when I remember that peace begins in my own heart, that I realize the answer to my struggle.
Everthing begins with peace in our hearts.
I wish you peace in your heart today.

Lao Tzu is my guru. My corn is as tall as a toddler!
I have always loved this piece- it’s a reminder that all is not lost.
Freedom is the same way. Have it in your heart and you will have it in your world OG. I PROMISE you, it works like that.
OK. I will work on this. I need to have a peaceful heart.
Beautiful post.
Attaining peace in my heart is do-able, it’s keeping it there that requires all the effort.
