Caffeine… my lover… my best friend….

i-ve-gotta-cut-back-on-caffein-caffeine-189965_400_534

Yeah. I gave up caffeine on Sunday.

Four days later? I can bearly write a cogant sentance.  It’s unbelievable to me.

The oddest thing is that I can’t remember the last time I quit caffeine. Coffee? Sure, I don’t mind going with out coffee for months. But all caffeine?

No iced tea.

No jasmine green tea.

No chai tea.

No macchiatos.

No espresso.

I’ve even broken up with the Earl of Gray.

So, if I’m not making any sense… let’s blame it on the lack of caffeine. ‘k?

Why? Is the question that comes to mind. Are you planning the life of a mendicant?

ha ha ha ha OG do what brings you peace.

Oh girlie, I feel your pain. I tried to give up caffeine when I was breastfeeding the babies. I lasted about three days…then I had the worst headaches. I thought it was a migraine it hurt so much.

So now it is all about moderation for me.

PS, I am working on your interview questions. Do you want me to email them to you?

Good luck with that. I don’t really need the caffeine boost, I just love coffee. And chai. I figure as long as I don’t NEED it, it can’t hurt me.

I remembered yesterday-you can still have your teas!! There’s a way to decaf them naturally! I read an article on the airline mag years ago and it stuck. Tea releases most of its caffeine in the first minute. So…boil your water, make sure you have extra. First, you brew the tea for a minute the first time-it doesn’t have to be a whole cup, just enough to get the job done.
Then take your tea bag out and drain it.
Pour yourself another cup and steep the tea again. You’ve now made yourself your own decaf tea. I remember the article I’d read said that this removes 99% of the caffeine. I looked up other articles online and they say to steep the first time for only 30secs and 80% of the caffein will be gone. Just an FYI!!
