In Rupe’s Men’s Ministry, “change” was one of the key lessons we studied. Especially when it came to people:
“You cannot change anyone but yourself”.
Oh, you can force it … shame someone into it … cajole them to change … ask them … ad nauseum. But it comes down to you changing yourself.
And that includes acceptance. Rupe disagrees that you will “feel better” – you may, you may not. But the point is: You’ve changed yourself and your way of thinking.
Perpstu – Oh me too – but some things you just have to accept.
Vixen – You’ve had so many challenges. I admire your courage.
Ruprecht – Did you work with Fr. John Lager? He started a men’s program – I don’t remember what it’s called. He’s a Capuchin bud of mine. In fact, he may be the Capuchin in my head. Hmmmm…. I think you can’t change anything until you accept it as fact.
Dana – You and me both sister!
Tommie – ((hug)) Change is very hard.
She – I have a number similar photos equally compelling. Some people are so talented!
As soon as I find an unchangeable situation I will accept it.
That is my biggest problem. I am always trying to change things to make them better….I need to learn to let go of some things!
Now I am just going to go around all day chanting accept, accept, accept in my head. I bet I will feel a lot better tomorrow.
Happy Monday to you too!
Change.
It’s difficult.

That’s what it’s all about. *clap, clap*
I’m always amazed at how insightful a cookie can be.
