Thursday Thirteen – Pukey lovey dovey names

Recently, I was in need of a list (DenverCereal) of vomit-acious lovey dovey names people have for each other. Sadly, I was unable to find such a list.

I thought this might be a task for fearless Thursday Thirteens! Let’s create the definitive list of pukeable lovey dovey names!

Thursday Thirteen #37 – Pukey lovey dovey names

This is what I came up with:

1. Smoochums

2. Kitten

3. Sweetie-pie

4. Sugar dumpling

5. Snuggle muffin

6. Lovie bunny

7. Foofie-Foofie

8. Any animated character name (Thumber, Bambi, Tigger, Pooh or Pooh Bear)

9. Sweets (British slang for candy)

10. Angel (or anything angel like)

11. Babe, baby, babydoll, boo and the like.

12. Anything that has the word “bunny” in it : honey bunny, humpy bunny, fluffy bunny, etc.

13. Now it’s your turn! Please help make this the definitive dictionary of pukey lovey dovey names! Write your answers in the comments and I’ll post them.

I have a cousin who calls his wife “kisses” and his wife calls him, “hugs”. They are supposed to be the “hugs & kisses” couple. Yuck.

I wonder what would become of them when they quarrel over his farting and snoring in the later years! hee hee

“All night long he calls her snookey ookum, snookey ookums.
All they do is talk like babies.
    She’s his jelly elly roll.
    He’s her sugey ugar bowl.
Hear the way they bill and coo, poogywoo, poogywoo, poogywoo?
All night long he calls her snookey ookums, snookey ookums.
All nigh long the neighbors shout “Cut it out! Cut it out! Cut it out!”
They cry, “For goodness sake don’t keep us all awake with your snookey, ookey, ookey , baby talk!” ”
    - Skooky Ookums, “Easter Parade”

P calls me “lamby”. I lobbied hard for “Stallion” or “lion” but I am stuck with Lamby. She likes to shout it at me in supermarkets, art galleries, church – anywhere that will cause all the blood in my body to rush to my cheeks.

Not being a snoogy-woogums, fluffy bunny type of person I usually have nicknames that are a little on the tart side, though I did call my dog Shadow “bunny face” occasionally.

No one calls me any sugary, sweet nickname more than once! (You can guess what they probably call me behind my back, lol!)

However, here are my nicknames for others:

For Pixel (my 8 year old Yorkioo) – You Little Shit (which she still answers to.

For my late 38 year old Cockatiel Peter Pan who bit and drew blood: Drakule

    Shadow’s usual nickname: – Fuzzbutt

Occasionally I toss in a “Fartball”, “Dipwad” and the classic “Buggerbutt” for good measure.

    Fun post!

Add ‘wa’ or ‘wee’ to the loved-one’s name if it ends in a ‘ley’. For example, Bradley becomes Bradwa or Bradwee. Take my word for it – it’s VERY nauseating. And I do it often…

Great idea for a T13, Claudia.
