Monday, I posted this video and asked people these questions:
What do you want to do before you die?
What will it take to make it happen?
I was so impressed at the thoughtful, interesting responses that I thought I would share a few items on my life.

I just want to visit Finland.
I am pretty satisfied with everything else.
oh I’m totally doing that this week! Thanks for the motivation
I’d love to live in Paris, too
For a bit.
There’s a list of dreams on my thirteen this week… any of them would be nice, but if I could only pick one, I’d go for #13.
Spend 6 months to a year visiting every historic site that caught my fancy in the U.K.
Great list idea Claudia
Happy TT!!! My list is up here:
My Life In The Urban Zoo
Great list! I’d like to travel the world, not just as a vacation, but spending several months in each place I go to.
I’d love to arrange a six week trip to a villa in Italy for us and our two children’s families.
Great idea for your TT. Love it!!
My father was adopted at 18 months old so we never did get to meet my biological family. I would like to meet this family and trace my Cherokee Indian roots.
What a fantastic 13!
I love your number 10…that is something I would love to do, as well. Until then, I try to buy locally grown food
One thing I would like to do before I die: help bring life into this world. I have a son, and it was the most amazing thing I have ever done so far! I would love to be there, helping, as someone else brings a life into their (and all of our) world!
Return to Ireland.
Wonderful list!
I would like to live in so many places, to really experience them and not see just cathedrals and museums:
Tahiti, Japan, Paris and Province, Firenze, Greece, Mexico, Tibet, Kenya…
Before I die, I want to write and publish books that add value to the lives of those who read them.
Dr. John – Finland it is! Now how do we get you there…..
Janet – I think we should buy an apartment – split the year!
Susan Helen Gotfried –
Sue – Can I come? That sounds fun!
Nichole Austin – That sounds lovely. I had a teacher who used to spend the summers in a different country every year – that seems wonderful.
Kay – Ooooh nice!
Michelle – That’s a fun one! What a great idea.
Allison – What a lovely thing to do. And completely doable!
SandyCarlson – Yes, Ireland.
Heart in SF – Gosh what a great list of places to live! What would it take to just start? You can cross the last one off as your writing add so much to my life right now!
Great list!
You have a blog: you already can participate in the national debate about torture.
Great T13! I would love to go overseas sometime before I die. I’m not too fazed where as there are so many places I would be happy to go.
(this one might not be so easy!)
And, I would really love to finish writing my book
Yep to # 7 and few other choices as well. Great list. Happy TT and thanks for stopping by:)
Let’s see… I’d like to visit Wales, get a novel or two published, ride a ship through the Panama canal and some other things.
I’d love to go to Germany and meet my mother’s side of the family. I hope you get to do everything on your list. Happy T13!
At least people who know you would know what you want before you leave this mortal shore.
I want to sail down the Nile on a barge, first class, treated as Cleopatra, preferably, stopping when I want to so I can do all the photography I can cope with.
SJR
The Pink Flamingo
What a great idea for a post. I may have to steal that one. Mine?
1. live at the beach and walk everyday on the shore, raining or not. Take it in.
2.Listen, really listen to my children. Sadly life is so fast paced, we forget to really LISTEN.
3.publish my novel and songs
4. be content in the person that I truly am. Weight, ideas….truly secure with being me and not having second guesses.
5. Buy a boat and sail, going to differnt islands
6. travle extensively with my children, and show them history.
Your blog is great! Thanks for sharing.
Part of my list would be:
Publish my novels.
Inspire others to do what they are passionate about.
Travel the world.
Squash grapes with my feet.
Ride a bike around Prince Edward Island.
…..and the list goes on.
I want to see all the great ballet companies of the world in their home venues. Ooo – I get shivery just thinking of it.
1. Stand up…Use every bit of ability that i have to heal and salvage from fear all that is within my view.
2. Meld…further into the very heart of peace so deeply that nothing can assault my soul.
3. Change…be the gentle breeze more consistently rather than the cyclone or tornado. The days for great force have passed and it is subtle energy which will have the greatest affect now.
4. Be…simply exist well.
5. Understand…all things work for good if we don’t stand in the way.
6. Thrive…I may be broken and aging but I can still prosper in the areas that matter to my soul.
7. Work…not for money, those days are gone; but for peace, education, power for them with the least, defeat of the corporate ass’ which destroy us as well as themselves and, on and, on.
8. Understand…all people come from a different point to get to the same center…mine is not ALWAYS the best for everyone.
9. Teach…I consciously stopped teaching a few miles back on this path. I suppose I should resume just as consciously.
10. Revert…go back, return to the wisdom of a child’s understanding but with the eyes of an adult.
11. Learn…Understanding that the One who is the center of all is so vast that I will never, not even as an immortal, know all that is within the being.
12. See…Travel through out the cosmos, (lookit all the pretty colors), more miraculous doings in the heart of men, darkness overcome with light in small ways that gather to be brightness, myself more clearly so I can see others more clearly.
13 Die…*shrug* it is the final step away from this place of mortality.
OG these with the exception of 13 are in no particular order.
14. Beat Pebble Peach golf at POGO consistently
I would like to write a book about my life.
I have so many. haha
I would really like to be able to travel to a different third world country every year, for mission trips.
At this point, I’d just like to have my family all on the same continent at once.
My list is very long but two at the top are sail around a good part of the world (not too picky about what part) and compete in the World Series of Poker.
good post.
I would love to go swimming with dolphins. I wanted to do this while docked in Bahamas in April, but it was sold out excursion…
I want to go on a trip through Europe and not have to worry about pinching pennies. And being a mom might be nice as well
I’d like to be able to see my grandchildren graduate from college. To live that long I have to make sure I exercise and eat right because my eldest is only seven right now!
Buck Naked Politics – I guess I’d like to be a part of the conversation in a larger way. I supposed I’d have to talk about my experience, eh?
Homemaking Mama – Good idea – any place that strikes your fancy in particular??
Lori – Oh you tease you! What’s on your list?
Sarah at Puss Reboots – Can I come with you through the Panama Canal?? That sounds wonderful!
Adelle Lauden – Oooh nice! Yes indeed! Thank you – I hope you get yours as well!
Cheerio – Yes indeed.
SJ Reidhead – Yes, with a nice man to fan you? I can see you on the Nile! Will you take photos and blog about your trip?
Leigh – Great list. Listening is very hard – at least you know it’s necessity and challenge.
Tamara Hanson – I like your list! Yes, grapes! How fun! Yes publish! Hurray! When will you start?
Julia – Oooh that’s delicious! What a great wish. When will you start?
TWM – I love your list – and the Pebble Beach thing – hell I’ll stake you there! MM regularly wins there and I’d just love to see his smug red face….
Grace – When will you start? I’d love to read it.
Kelly – Ahh, nice! You know you can do that through a variety of organizations including “peace corps”ish programs. Why not start next year?
Darla – yes, that would be lovely too.
HRH – At least you have a list! How fun to sail and poker? I have a friend who entered the World Series of Poker. He lasted like 3 minutes. Unbelievable.
She –
Ivanhoe – You know… I’ve never had that urge. We were just talking about it – But – you go girl!
Playful Professional – That sounds wonderful. Souls find each other – remember this and you’ll be a mom.
Los Angelista – I always forget that your babies are still… well babies! I want that for you as well!
get married, have children, get a hat made by my grandmother, get my master’s degree, grow closer to God, live in a city surrounded by or near friends and family (also ok w/the former becoming the latter b/c those are the best kind), buy one of those beautiful houses in charlotte that i’ve been dreaming about since at least 13.
What a great list! Hey, my father in law lives in Mendocino with an ocean front view…I can hook you up (lol). Before I die…I want to kiss the Blarney Stone!
Happy Thursday!
I love that you said be comfortable with your weight, rather than lose weight. Good for you! My #1 goal is to be more disciplined in my personal life. Give me a professional assignment and I will hit it or die trying. But somehow, in more personal life, I am soooo undisciplined and easily distracted.
Hm… I’d say own the house of my dreams.
I would also like to get my novel series published! I have the first novel out on query right now…and I dream of it getting published (although the current market sucks…maybe in a couple of years
)
Make you smile. Maybe more than once.
A tattoo of the Vesica Pisces is something I’ve been thinking about too! I’d love to visit the real Chalice Well.
Thanks for visiting my goddess TT. Unfortunately I still don’t know about the statue from last week!
See my daughter grow up. Definitely.
I’d have to say that I’d get to meet Claudia and her husband, and have dinner. I covet That sourdough bread and honey.
Maybe I should get to visit her in Paris and/or that oceanside home. The sourdough and honey ought to taste just as good there, don’t you think?
Hmmm…you know, on my 101 Things in 1001 Days list (http://www.celticangel.org/index.php/lists/ ) I have a note to make a list of things to do before I die. Thanks for the reminder!
Bare minimum, I want to publish a book, figure out a way to get away from the 9 to 5 job thing, have a baby, and travel. Oh, and get a tattoo of the Seal of Rassilon on my back.
Jameil – Let’s make it so! I see all of this for you!
This Eclectic Life – I’d love to meet him … become his heir….
The Gal Herself – I’m certain you’ll get there.
Tempest Knight – Here or in PR? I’d like that for you as well!
Sarah – Go Sarah Go!
Alice – You always make me smile. You’re very yellow that way
Tink – Let’s do it together. I’m too chicken to get it by myself!
Melanie – I wish that for you and for her!
CEO – All things with time… all things with time….
CelticLibrarian – There’s nothing more important than the things we wish to do before we die. I like yours!
hm. i hope to travel out of the united states.
