Thursday Thirteen - What works for me.
This year, I have undergone a fairly major transformation. While most people wouldn’t notice the difference, everything, from what I eat to how I think about myself, has changed. In this process, I’ve had to evaluate what works for me. I’ve let go of a lot of situations, people and possession that simply don’t work for me.
In turn, I’ve drawn a lot of new situations, people and possessions into my life. (I swear that this is not an advert. I am getting no kick back for any of this.) Since I’m in the process of setting up another business, I am fascinated to see what businesses I like and how they make it happen for me.
Thursday Thirteen #34 - Things that work for me.
I wanted to share some of the things that work really well in my life. And hopefully, learn what works well in your life.
1. I love Pandora radio. I listen to everything from my beloved Breaking Benjamin to Rihanna and even a little Spanish jazz. You have to monitor the feed, because it can go wonky. Otherwise, it’s perfect - free and fabulous!
2. Did you know that you can subscribe to Consumer Reports online? I’ve been a subscriber for a long time. It’s $24 a year and is so very worth it.
3. I love Firefox web browser. I’ve also used this for a long time. It’s fast, easy to use, and has great plug ins. For example, I have a web developer tool that allows me to check out things on web pages that I wouldn’t be able to (ever) on Internet Explorer. Did I mention it’s FAST??
4. Gmail is very awesome. I started a Gmail account a few years ago so that I could IM with my husband while he’s a work. This year, after a decade of deleting spam, I forwarded my main personal email to my Gmail account. Ahhhh! I get approximately 1 spam a month, down from about 100 a day. Amazing.
5. Mediation made feasible - Holosync. I started using Holosync at the beginning of May and it’s changed my life. It’s a mediation CD that puts your brain in a meditative place. I’m so hyper that I always struggled with static meditation. This program has been so very awesome. But don’t believe me. They have a free demo CD - try it.
6. I’m in love with Dax Moy and his Elimination Diet. We (D and I) did the Elimination Diet at the beginning of this year. I think it launched us into a healthy year. We returned to this diet about a week ago when D was having some allergy problems. We hope to maintain the diet for an entire 30 days. What is it? No wheat, not much dairy, no alcohol, no caffeine, no sugar.
~~~~~~~Gratuitous naked guy in case you’re bored of reading~~~~~~~
This is Luke O’Donnell. He’s a footballer from Australia.
Unlike the steroid jockeys on the cover of romance books,
I’m pretty sure he… um … works. ![]()
(BTW, he’s married to a woman called “Tania”.)
~~~~~~~Back to what works for me ~~~~~~~
7. A blender that works! We bought this blender (on the recommendation of Consumer Reports). It’s amazing. No screaming siren. The blades are attached to a cone so there aren’t stuck places. It makes a creamy wonderful smootie. I never would have bought this kind of thing because it’s expensive (for a blender). It’s worth is - absolutely worth every penny.
8. I love this sourdough starter and this sourdough website. Since I’ve already blathered on about it here, I’ll just say - YAY! I’m making rye bread tonight!
9. Have you used Google Reader? It’s really great. I can easily find the blogs I like. I know when people post so I don’t have to go to… let’s not name names… to find out there’s not a new post! I can read information blogs in one place. It saves me so much time. You can get an account with your blogger log-in.
10. I’m a WordPress girl. I’ve been blogging since… well a long time. I’ve used other services and find Word Press to be easy to use. The spam filters are virtually flawless. They have great widgets and plug-ins that make blogging easy.
11. I am surprised to say this but…. Road Runner Sports works for me. I’ve been a VIP member there for a long time. Before D got sick, he used to run half marathons for fun - like 4 or 5 a summer. We blew through shoes. In the last few years, I haven’t used them much… until this year. Why do I like them? They are nice on the phone. As a VIP member, you get free shipping and 10% off. They send emails with sales - even their super secret ‘get rid of inventory’ sale.
12. Monthly goals with my hubby. This isn’t a business. My husband and I started to do monthly goals. At the first of the month, we sit down and discuss how the month went and what we want to accomplish in the next month. Goals range from specific - I want to lose 10 pounds - to general (from my list this month) - Make decision. It’s a wonderful way to connect. More than anything, I know what he’s working on and/or struggling with. I can support him where he is rather than where I think he should be or might be.
13. Ok, you know how we do this. What works for you? Put your answers in the comments and I’ll post them.
What works for:
- Jenny is “working with people that I like to be with and all working together for a common goal, patient care.”
- Allison says, “I love wordpress. I’ve been dying to make a sourdough starter, so I’ll have to try that one if it’s working so well for you! And yes, consumer reports is worth every penny. We check it before we buy, well, anything! It’s great!”
- Nicholas says, “I’ve been using Firefox for about a year and have no regrets. I haven’t checked out the plugins though. Likewise, I have been a happy Gmail user for some time.”
- Jill is “KLove.com. Its like a modern worship service in my car or at the office. Christian rock that resembles regular alternative rock with great messages. It keeps me centered and thinking positively. Pajama pants. Straight after work. All weekend long. Why wear anything less comfy. One half hour of extreme snuggling with J in the mornings. We actually set our alarm a half hour before we really need to get up to do this. Its that good and it sets the tone for the day.”
- Shaunesay “just got a new phone that I love, but I couldn’t begin to tell you what it is, I’m that clueless, but it does e-mail and internet and pocket pc stuff, so i guess I would say that, because I can check on all that stuff if I want to without being stuck at a desk!”
- Sandy Carson is, “gmail and google reader. In fact, I think Google has replaced Zeus as king of the hill.”
- Jehara is, “preparing lunches for work everyday is working for me. i never have to go out to lunch, which i hate to do because i really don’t like any of the places to eat near my job. working out right after work is working too. that’s a lot of working in one sentence haha. glad so many things are working out for you, my dear.”
- Susan Helen Gottfried is, “love a quiet house and time to write.”

- Miss Holly says, “I love my iPhone even though I am a bit tech-challenged (OK, more then a bit…I was just trying to be nice to myself like you have suggested) it works great for me. I can use dead moments to check my email or listen to something. I can look addresses up on the internet, etc. I have 1000s of family photos in it too. Love it.”
- Grace at Sandier Pastures is, “Bloglines works for me - no particular reason it was just downloaded it first before thinking about Google reader! Wordpress works for me too - I’ve been blogging in Blogdrive, Xanga, Blogspot but WP is the best! Also, online map games works for me, when I am dead bored at work!”
- Forgetful One is, ” Bloglines. Blogger. Google (images, maps, etc.). Yahoo mail and calendar. The local YMCA for workouts.”
- Clarence, who is Australian but doesn’t have Luke O’Donnell’s number, is, “Scribbling down little stories in my spare time. My Aunt got me onto the creative writing thing. I don’t know if I’m any good at it, but I enjoy it so much that I think that in itself makes it worthwhile.”
- Cajun Vegan is, “1) Reading, 2) Writing with pen and paper first, 3) And, snarkiness, that works in a pinch to.”
- TWMark is, “caffeine and nicotine center me, my old lady helps me focus, experimental poetry makes me think, never going into china shops preserves my wealth, music in whatever form it takes carries me into different minds, getting and receiving forgiveness ensures my spiritual health, directness in my writing lets others know me, whether they would or not, visiting 30 or so blogs every night makes the it pass, no fear…leads to interesting situations, faith that the day holds all it can is good enough for me, being alone and silent is not bad because my mind is always noisy, still not gray atop the mountain makes my siblings know they were always right…I am not like them, Bob Marley said it best “Everything is going to be all right” and that works for me”
- Angie is, “I am also a Wordpress girl. I’ve been reading Wordpress for Dummies these past couple weeks as I prepare to go live with my own site.”
- Nicole Austin says, “Being a night person works for me. I’ve found that I get my best creative work done between midnight and six a.m.”

- Kelly is, “What’s working for me lately is my new Palm Z22! WOAH!!! It is one of my new favorite things in my world atm. I used to keep everything in my phone, and then when I switched phones I didn’t like the callender/schedule it had, so I got an old fashioned day planner. I hated it. I need something to beep at me and tell me when there is something I have scheduled. Anyway… got the Z22 (because it was one of the top PDAs on the consumer report site) and I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It’s perfect, and I don’t have to carry an overnight bag so my planner fits in my purse. haha
“ - Ivanhoe is, “The day shift (could not do nights), almost daily walks (cannot do the gym excercise thing), and Google.com (hate that Ask.com thingy).”
- Colleen is, “Having days on end with nothing scheduled so that I can fall out of bed and start writing. When I need a break I sit on the porch and listen to the birds and breeze or work in the garden.”
- Journeywoman is, “Goodreads.com. I read–A LOT. Sometimes I even buy a book twice forgetting that I read it or I own it. Embarrassing. Goodreads has helped me organize my TBR (to be read) pile and turned me on to new authors.”

I can easily organize the kids’ outfits…..(shirt, shorts, shoes, undies, and bows) all in one spot. So much easier than digging around in drawers or open suitcases.”
- She is, “Bookmooch keeps me “in books” and “in budget”!! For $2.75 media mail shipping, I get a book I want to read off my wishlist. What could be better than that? I can keep the book or trade it to someone else.”
- Lori at Not So Superwoman is, “What works for me? Blog surfing, I find it relaxing. A good cup of coffee. Laughter. A hug from one of my children. Dark chocolate.

No blinky - sorry. If you leave a convincing argument, send me an email or leave a comment. I’ll think about adding back Mr. Linky. I’m not resentful, just resistant to a non-reciprocal relationship.

I’ve been going through those kind of changes. I’m now known as a bitch!
The guy in the photo looks good, but is probably gay!
SJR
The (cynical) Pink Flamingo
Some very good ideas here, I bookmarked your sourdough blog and the running shoe store.
What works for me….working with people that I like to be with and all working together for a common goal, patient care.
What a great list! I, too, love wordpress. I’ve been dying to make a sourdough starter, so I’ll have to try that one if it’s working so well for you!
And yes, consumer reports is worth every penny. We check it before we buy, well, anything! It’s great!
I’ve been using Firefox for about a year and have no regrets. I haven’t checked out the plugins though. Likewise, I have been a happy Gmail user for some time.
I do have Google reader but I haven’t looked at it for months. I’m afraid to now.
I don’t know! You’ve got me thinking so much about your list, and all the great things you have here! I’ll have to give it some thought.
i’m a wordpress girl too
Dude, we JUST burned our blender up. Thank you. I’m going to get one asap!
I love your #12. That is an awesome idea. Think I may steal it once J and I are married.
What works for me: KLove.com.
Its that good and it sets the tone for the day.
Happy TT, Love!
I love Googlereader! I’m so glad another friend turned me on to it!
What works for me… not sure but I really need to find some things that do! Actually I just got a new phone that I love, but I couldn’t begin to tell you what it is, I’m that clueless, but it does e-mail and internet and pocket pc stuff, so i guess I would say that, because I can check on all that stuff if I want to without being stuck at a desk!
I’m gld things are changing for you. I too use gmail and google reader. In fact, I think Google has replaced Zeus as king of the hill.
God bless,Claudia, and thanks for sharing these fun guys. The naked guy wasn’t necessary–I wasn’t bored–but he sure was a nice surprise!
Great list. Inspired me to do this too. I need to inventory all the things in life that work for me. Useful for any number of reasons.
Yes, I am a gmail user, too–and I plan to investigate Foxfire.
i, too, love firefox. i just recently switched to gmail and i really like it so far. i am stealing your number twelve. that sounds like such a good idea.
hmm, preparing lunches for work everyday is working for me. i never have to go out to lunch, which i hate to do because i really don’t like any of the places to eat near my job. working out right after work is working too. that’s a lot of working in one sentence haha. glad so many things are working out for you, my dear.
No sugar is very hard to do (for me!) but worth it in how it reduces your cravings and pounds. Good luck with that diet, it sounds like it will be a challenge with a good pay off.
Hmm. What works for me? Google Reader and Firefox, definitely.
I’d love a quiet house and time to write. That would work nicely for me!
Sorry…i missed the second half of your list after that half naked man..heeheehee. Happy TT. It works for me:)~
I still want to get the sour dough starter. I need to buy envelopes. LOL. Happy TT.
You’ve likely inspired a bunch of us to make similar round-ups of what works for us. I love your naked-guy-in-case-you’re-bored!
I also love Gmail. So what works for me? YouTube! Let’s me find snippets of impossible-to-find British television - and very often whole miniseries posted in 10-minute bits. I love those people who post things that are impossible to find! *kiss, kiss*
This is a great list. I love how so many things that seem random alone work together to make your life better.
I am going to check out Firefox because I am having some issues with explorer *shock*
I love my iPhone even though I am a bit tech-challenged (OK, more then a bit…I was just trying to be nice to myself like you have suggested) it works great for me. I can use dead moments to check my email or listen to something. I can look addresses up on the internet, etc. I have 1000s of family photos in it too. Love it.
Some of those things work for me, too! I’m not sure about the naked guy, but Gmail really rocks!
SJ Reidhead - He’s a married footballer from Australia. If he’s gay, he’s fooling that poor girl - if you saw him with clothes on? You say - “straight”!
Jenny - I don’t think it gets better than that!
Nicholas - Yes, I’ve had that Google reader terror. Just click “mark as read” and start fresh!
SusieJ - Go Susie! Go!
FuriousBall - It’s just one of the things I love about you.
Jill - Why wait? You can start your monthly goals now. It might make the entire process easier. Buy the blender - it’s very cool.
Shaunesay - Hurray for a new phone! How delicious to have something that works!
SandyCarlson - You’re welcome. There are enough cute naked guys in the world.
Nancy - I can’t wait to see it - will you tag me?
Kay - Go Gmail! Go Firefox!
Jehara - I love homemade lunch. I’m a huge fan. The goals is wonderful - try it. My husband love them. It’s something he really gets.
Bellezza - No sugar is hard - but so worth it. I just feel better and my husband is a sugar lover. He feels better.
Susan Helen Gottfried - Ah the sound of silence.
Lori - No doubt. No doubt.
PussReBoots - Hurray for envelopes! You’re almost there!
Julia - Check out nakedforacause.com. Lots of hunky guys! Hurray for YouTube! I watch parkor on YouTube.
HRHolly - NO WAY! No IE?? blink… blink…. Hurray for the iPhone. The list does create an odd kind of whole, but then odd is really my style!
Carol - We’ll have to ask his wife if he works or not! Gmail rules.
So many Google Reader fans here. Bloglines works for me - no particular reason it was just downloaded it first before thinking about Google reader!
Wordpress works for me too - I’ve been blogging in Blogdrive, Xanga, Blogspot but WP is the best!
Also, online map games works for me, when I am dead bored at work!
Loved this post. My T13 is up, too.
Works for Me? Bloglines. Blogger. Google (images, maps, etc.). Yahoo mail and calendar. The local YMCA for workouts.
I really want to check out that Holosync meditation and the Elimination diet.
What works for me? Scribbling down little stories in my spare time. My Aunt got me onto the creative writing thing. I don’t know if I’m any good at it, but I enjoy it so much that I think that in itself makes it worthwhile.
Oh, this is such a great T13! I really enjoyed reading it, but appreciated the Luke O’Donnel picture also. Why have I not heard of him before? I live in Australia, where have I been? Too busy blogging, I suppose. You know, I went straight to the Pandora Radio site but it turns out you can’t listen online if you are outside US. Sad.
Google Reader is my lover.
Things that work for me lately:
1) Reading
2) Writing with pen and paper first
3) And, snarkiness, that works in a pinch too.
OG…it is good when things work as advertised and planned eh.
What works for me, well…
caffeine and nicotine center me
my old lady helps me focus
experimental poetry makes me think
never going into china shops preserves my wealth
music in whatever form it takes carries me into different minds
getting and receiving forgiveness ensures my spiritual health
directness in my writing lets others know me, whether they would or not
visiting 30 or so blogs every night makes the it pass
no fear…leads to interesting situations
faith that the day holds all it can is good enough for me
being alone and silent is not bad because my mind is always noisy
still not gray atop the mountain makes my siblings know they were always right…I am not like them
Bob Marley said it best “Everything is going to be all right” and that works for me
Great list. I will be checking into # 5. Thanks for the tip.
As for me, I am also a Wordpress girl. I’ve been reading Wordpress for Dummies these past couple weeks as I prepare to go live with my own site.
Have a great Thursday!
I’m so glad you’ve made changes that are working for you. Congrats!
Being a night person works for me. I’ve found that I get my best creative work done between midnight and six a.m.
What works for me?
Our power in westcliffe that never goes off, unless we are without sun or wind for a couple of days straight, and then of course we have propane backup, so basically it never goes off.
I was in the middle of reading posts on google reader and the power kept flickering, next thing you know the in internet was chugging along at a snails pace, so I went to recycle the power supply, then the modem wouldn’t turn back on. Called comcast to see it there was an outage. “There seems to be a problem with your router” duh! Ask the comcast tech if she would look up Xcel energy phone number, because I don’t have internet service at the moment and it seems to be a power problem. I hate looking up numbers in the phone book, can’t even lift the sucker.
Seven hours later everything is working although I’m scheduled for service calls by both comcast and xcel today, it seems to be working.
At the moment 4:34am that is just the first thing that came to mind that floats my boat, constant power supply. I’m sure as the summer heats up we will experience more and more of this type of problem. Time to take our dogs, the dozen or so pheasants and head back to westcliffe. lol
Oh.. one more thing, rain works for me once in awhile. Thanks to MN for our down pour last night.
Constant power supply which we have in Westcliffe, unlike here in Denver, where we were having power surges last night which caused the modem to flake out. I typed a longer comment but lost it.
Sooo this is a shorten version.
I just love your list. Sounds like you have many positive things in your life. I just switch over to Fire Fox. So much faster than Internet Explorer. I love it. Happy TT and thanks for stopping by mine.
I’m so with you on so many of these!
And thanks for the link! I had a couple new people today, and I couldn’t figure out how they found me because I didn’t even post my site on the TT list yet. LOL
What’s working for me lately is my new Palm Z22! It’s perfect, and I don’t have to carry an overnight bag so my planner fits in my purse. haha
Great post!
I have to check out the meditation DVD and the Google Reader. I know, I know I’m little ancient. I just click on my faves every day to visit everybody.
What works for me? The day shift (could not do nights), almost daily walks (cannot do the gym excercise thing), and Google.com (hate that Ask.com thingy).
Getting back to my yesterday’s comment, the company just e-mailed me for a follow-up interview. Yipeeeee! I’ll keep you posted.
Having days on end with nothing scheduled so that I can fall out of bed and start writing. When I need a break I sit on the porch and listen to the birds and breeze or work in the garden.
Nice list with a few good places to visit. My 13 playlist is playing.
Happy T13! This list is pretty cool. Hope to see you at my 7th edition about Charlaine Harris.
What kind of blender do you have? I need a new one. Good post by the way.
After your sourdough post, I sent away for the starter…and received it a few days ago! Altho it’s too hot to bake bread, I’m totally thrilled to get it and will “start” it this weekend! Yes, I’m STILL in the midst of my sourdough craving. Thanks for the info!
That blender is soso pretty
I too like Pandora.
What works for me? Goodreads.com.
I read–A LOT. Sometimes I even buy a book twice forgetting that I read it or I own it. Embarrassing. Goodreads has helped me organize my TBR (to be read) pile and turned me on to new authors.
I highly reccomend–and anyone who needs a freind on it–I’m Journeywoman!
i like pandora, too but i forget abt it a lot. i love you and d’s monthly goals thing. that’s cool. i don’t even know what i’ve used that’s been that amazing to me in the last month or so… too many other ideas running rampant in my head.
I love gmail & Firefox, though I used to get almost no spam with gmail, and now I get more than I do with my Yahoo mail. Odd.
I used to love Pandora, too, until they decided they didn’t like that we were stationed in Germany. Gmail doesn’t like it either, but I can still use it by going through googlemail. *sigh*
Right now, exercise, reading, and humor are what’s working for me. Being in the middle of moving is really throwing me off balance, but those things keep me somewhat sane.
In all of our traveling this last month, I started taking those hangable stackers….the ones with seven openings for clothes, ten openings for shoes. I can easily organize the kids’ outfits…..(shirt, shorts, shoes, undies, and bows) all in one spot. So much easier than digging around in drawers or open suitcases.
PS, that was quite the distraction!
Bookmooch keeps me “in books” and “in budget”!! For $2.75 media mail shipping, I get a book I want to read off my wishlist. What could be better than that? I can keep the book or trade it to someone else.
http://www.bookmooch.com
Nicole Austin - Good for you for stretching to find what works! Hurray!
Grace - I love that expression “dead bored”. I’ll have to try map games!
Forgetfulone - I think you’ll like the CDs and the diet - it works for me!
Clarence - He doesn’t look like much with his clothing on - plus he’s married. I’ve heard that footballers don’t get much action so….. Sorry about Pandora - that just sucks.
CajunVegan - Hurray for summer vacation! And a wish that your new job is so much better!
TWMark - YES! Great experimental piece - thanks!
Janeywan - Sorry about the power - that just sucks. We used to have that a lot here but they put in those new ritzy towers and fixed it. Go figure. Solar! Solar!
Michelle - Firefox is wonderful! I’m glad you like it!
Kelly - Great recommendation. I need a new phone and won’t Apple - I just won’t.
Ivanhoe - YES!! Congratulations!!
Colleen - How lovely! Good for you!
Brenda ND - It’s a L’Equipment. Awesome.
Janet - Go Janet Go! (I bake in our mini-convection/toaster oven! It’s pretty fast and doesn’t heat the house as much.)
Journeywoman - I’m on Goodreads at the insistance of my friend Lynda Sandoval but I don’t use it at all. I’ll have to really check it out. Thanks!
Jameil1922 - I think when you’re in the middle of everything, it’s hard to even assess what works or doesn’t. That will come later.
Darla - Hurray for exercise, reading and humor! You know, I’ve had that experience communicating with friends in the military - but it was always the military/gov’t, not the services. I wonder if that’s what’s going on.
Tommie - You and me - we like those big boys. I never would have thought of using those for travel, but what a great idea. I’ll steal it for my next trip! Thanks!
Hmmm…some of what works for you looks worth checking into for me (Pandora, blender, firefox, gmail, google reader, wordpress?). Will have to come back and check them all out when I get a chance!
What works for me? Blog surfing, I find it relaxing. A good cup of coffee. Laughter. A hug from one of my children. Dark chocolate.
I’m a Firefox user too. Heh! Oh… thanks for the hottie.
Love firefox! We definitely need monthly goals!
Mines up as well!
Hubbys having a give away at his blog at http://www.valtool.blogspot.com
Hope you will visit us both!
Allison - YAY! There you are!
love Consumer Reports!
She - I’ve seen you make mention of this before but I didn’t really now what it was - thanks for the link. It sounds great!
Lori - Not so supermom - I’d have to say a hearty YAY to every thing on your list.
Tempest Knight - I do love the hotties!
Huh? What? Were talking about something? I just saw some knock out abs and got distracted … Oh yes! What works for me? Shout Color Catchers! Laundry is such a pain in the ass, and with Shout Color Catchers soaking up the loose dyes, I don’t have to do as many loads. Of course, gratuitous male nudity works for me, too. Thanks for visiting my TT.
Blogging works for me - if gives me the creative outlet I need and a place to let out everything that builds up inside me. If I didn’t have blogging as an outlet for life’s stresses I think I’d probably go insane. Not that I think my stresses are any worse than anyone else’s, we all have our own paths to walk, but these are mine, and they can be stressful enough. (Does that answer your question by the way? I wasn’t necessarily planning to answer it like this, here in comments, but since it’s already spilled out of its own volition I figured I’d just go with it…)
Writing really does work for me. Especially lately. Also, not eating garbage–fried foods mostly. I’ve been attempting to be more healthy this year.
Great list!
What works for me?
-buying veggies instead of processed snack foods, and cutting them up so they’re ready to eat at any time.
-working from home so I can be here when my kids need me.
-vitamins, exercise (walking) and blogging help keep the depression at bay.
I’ve used Firefox for a long time, gmail, and Google Reader for about 8 months and find that all are excellent tools. I used to subscribe to Consumer Reports online, but don’t have a current subscription because I’m trying to avoid buying stuph. I like what I see of WordPress blogs, but started on Blogger and there I remain … at least for now.
Hugs and blessings,
What did I do? I quit the Evil Day Job, that’s what I did.
Internet is good, and I just switched to google and I LURVE it.
No spam HOORAY!!
Things that work for me…..
Google Reader
Plurk
A good book
Time to breathe
I love firefox and now that I’ve upgraded it doesn’t crash my computer anymore. (My computer is buggy, you see.) I have four blogs on Wordpress and I love it…even though the recent update peeved me something fierce.
Right now, what works for me is flickr. Love it!
What works for me? Gmail, Gchat, Google Reader. Volunteering at church, playing in a band, Saturday afternoon naps, and being content.
Great list…and Happy TT!
I love Firefox, Gmail, Consumer Reports, and Road Runner Sports, too. I considered trying the Elimination Diet, but I just CANNOT give up wheat. When I was younger, I didn’t care for breads, but now I love them.
Right now, what works for me is just getting enough exercise and sleep most days.
Great list! I love many of the things you mentioned. In addition, this is what works for me:
Listening to my body, yoga, writing even when I don’t feel like it, and spending time with girlfriends. A little quality time with My Love doesn’t hurt, either.
The Gal Herself - Yes, gratuitous male nudity is fun. I just learned about those color catchers - so smart. I’ll have to try them.
Robin - Hurray for blogging. You really inspire me with your great attitude and all you handle.
Jennifer - I’m so delighted that writing works! YES!!
Laura - I always forget to do that with veggies. When I remember, I just eat them. Lettuce - I just make salads. Sigh. You must remember so many things!
Celtic Librarian - I like flickr but haven’t fallen in love yet… I wonder why….
Denise - Hurray for exercise AND sleep - that’s a winning combination.
Smtwngrl - I do love yoga! Good for you for finding what works in your life!
I’ll have to try the meditation site. I think I could use that. I’ve been thinking about trying it.
