Nattering Nobs of Negativity.

If you’re like me, at some point early this morning, you’ll run into a nattering nob of negativity. You might hear him on the radio, read her in the newspaper, or find him on your favorite blog. Maybe there’s someone in your home – teenage girl or boy – who spews negativity. Could be your officemate is having a bad day or week or lifetime.

Mondays can be damn hard.

World in your hands

You hold your whole world in your hands.
Just because they natter, doesn’t mean you have to listen.

Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string.
Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind.

– Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Self-Reliance”

Happy Monday!

I struggle with self-loathing and self-deprecating constantly. This is good for me.

Ello there. I think I’m nattering this morning. I love my job and yet wish I were still home in bed. All cozy in my pajammies.

So few bloggers these days can be found quoting Spiro Agnew…

FuriousBall – I’m glad to be helpful. I wish those demons would leave you….

    Slick – Have va-ka! :)

Christy – Yes, well, longing for pajamas on a Monday is fairly reasonable.

Fabbie – He said “nabobs”. The Brits call people from the United States “nattering nobs of negativity”. So there…. Just because a speech writer wrote that for Spiro, and he said it, doesn’t make it any less true.

You’re right about this one. Its so hard to get away from. Even if you’ve promised yourself a positive day, someone with a terrible mood can overpower that in an instant.

((hugs)) Kick them in the shins and tell ‘em to go-way! ;)

BroLo – It’s the habit, dude. You’ve been wearing it too much.

    Kelly – Yes indeed! :)

Jill – Now that’s an excellent plan.

I make it a priority to seperate myself from negativity, but it is so hard when it is coming from within….
