A friend of mine just got a Mac, and she is totally crazy about it. I told my Sweetness, who is a computer geekoid, and he thought it was absolutely absurd. Not because Macs are a bad thing, but because my friend is not apart of the 'subculture' that mac users were geared towards in the past. He said that they have been geared towards more creative people; artists, musicians, etc. They used to have better programs available to the Mac users for the more creative fields of interest and occupations. For instance, they had better recording and editing programs that came standard with the computer, so if you were a musician a Mac was the thing to have. Now, PCs can get pretty much the same software, or same type of software with all the added bonuses that Mac used to have exclusively. But that's where the whole Mac creative-better-than-your-PC thing started.

Ok... so, it isn't my opinion, but I just thought I would pass along his, since I have none. I have to say though... after he told me about this'subculture', I wanted one. :-) hehe

well, here I am, another Mac user and really, I don't know if that survey is accurate, even though some people I know really talk smack!! But in the graphics, arts and photography world, Mac is the standard. I do love how easy it is!!

I'm a Mac user. I have never owned a PC, although I have used them extensively in the workplace. I prefer Macs because they are easier, but I also resent them because the expensive equipment becomes obsolete the second you walk out of the Apple store with it.

I think the company fosters the superior thing, though. Every one of their stores has a "Genius bar" to help people and their job description is actually "genius." You've gotta love it (and hate it,) both.

FuriousBall - I'm pretty sure it was funded by someone who is 50% less superior to you.... ;)

Harlekwin - Although, for you? It's probably someone who feels... erm.. .30% less superior? ;)

Jameil - I'll keep a keen eye on your superiority complex. If it rises, we'll know what happened.

Miss Britt - Yes indeed.

At home I use an iMac, in other places it's a PC. If I had my way, there would be no 'one or the other' it would be Mac and nothing else.

The difference in my computer usage between the two platforms is considerable. On my PC, I stumble around, wait and wait for things to load and never do much creative with it. My iMac on the other hand has become a valuable tool in my creative pursuits.

So, do I feel superior? Um, no. I do however find myself feeling more fulfilled by owning a machine that has exceeded every expectation I've ever had as to how a computer should function for me.

And yeah, who funded this survey?

I've got an iMac at home and work on a PC at my dayjob and well, that finding is crap. I meet just as many PC users that think they are operating on a superior OS as the Mac folk. I'd be curious as to who funded the survey.
