Since I started the week with a sad Marine, I thought I would end it with a cool Marine story.

Marine Maj. Brian Dennis, 36 years old, made friends with an abused, traumatized dog he called “Nubs”.? More than once, he saved the dog’s life.? And now, Nubs is coming to live in San Diego with Capt. Eric Sjoberg until Major Dennis returns in March.
Now how cool is that?? (Click here to read the story.)

With a little luck, they will both live happily ever after.
that’s great, i like that.
i needed a good story.
Omigod…! What a beautiful story! And just look at the expression on that dog’s face. That is pure love and gratitude. I have never seen anything like it.
I read that and cried on so many levels. Such a great, great story!
Oh what a great story!! Like Josie said, the expression on the dogs face….sniff.. (guy’s not so bad either…)
I love this story too! So sweet.
I saw that on the news here in San Diego. Such a heartwarming story. Beautiful dog Nubs is too. My first dog (when I was 16) was a dog I rescued (stole) who lived next door to a friend. He had been tortured also and then tied up to die outside when he didn’t look like a doberman. He was undoubtedly the best, most faithful dog I ever had.
FuriousBall – Glad to serve!
Josie – They do look like they were meant for each other.
Maggies Mind – It’s amazing what one person can do.
Claudia- He’s ringless – now wouldn’t it be great to meet a guy like that??
Jill – It is sweet. Yes!
Vixen – Gosh, you are so brave. I hate to see animals hurt or in pain. It’s so very sad.
What an amazing story! If I still lived in San Diego, I would go to the airport and wait, bawling, to see Nubs to go by.
I have taken in abused animals forever, but have never had one airlifted out of a war zone.
Major Dennis is my kind of guy!
A story about passion! beautiful………both of them!
Ahhhhh ! What a gr8 story. Gr8 idea for a post too…
Heart in SF – At least one life is positively impacted by the war. Nubs will be our mascot.
Awareness – They are beautiful – aren’t they?
Chuck – Fun to see something good every once and a while, eh?
That’s great!
i put that in my newscast yesterday b/c he was so cute!
No Nonsense Girl – Yes! I think so too!
Jameil – Hey there’s no ring. I bet you, of all people, could come up with an email address.
Thank you for this. It really came at a perfect time for me. There are times that I think you are reading my mind. Thank you.
