Thursday Thirteen #12 - Reasons my life sucks!
Here’s 13 reasons my life sucks, set to the tune of the twelve days of Christmas:
1. One whining dog: She sits in her striped throne and whines. Oh right, she had a sock and wants to play pull. What does that have to do with me? Grrr, back at ‘cha.
2. Two books finished in the series: I have completed two books in my thriller series. While book 2 is about to go through a round of pacing edits, it’s close… very close. My life sucks even more! There are even agents and publishers interested. Pity me!
3. Three hybernating beehives: My bee hives are doing fairly well this winter. With any luck, they will make it through the winter! Now doesn’t that suck?
4. Four nice Holiday dinners: If you can believe it, I’ve been out to four favorite restaurants this week! I know. The company was even great. That sucks! I’ve been to Sushi Sasa, Mc Cormicks, Mici Italian and Mezcal. Couple places? I didn’t have to pay. That’s just awful!
5. No five carat diamond ring: Sigh. I only have this crap.
(Isn’t it pretty? Anniversary present bling. Yay!)
6. Six egg white omelets with broccoli: I know you are thinking, “Oh the horror” but I love 6 egg white omelets AND they are on my decrease percent fat diet. Doesn’t that just suck?
7. Seven blossoms on my Christmas Cactus: If you’ve made it this far on this list, then you know that these pink blossoms just suck.
8. Eight ounces of Lowfat organic milk for my protein shakes: I’m pretty sure some maids milked these cows. Growing up, we drank half diluted powdered milk. Afterall, shoes and alcohol are expensive so there was no way we could afford real milk. I literally drank my first milk (ever) about a month ago. Wow. It’s great with my whey protein too. Chocolate milk pre-workout - yummy. Oh sorry, I forgot. Milk sucks.
9. Nine invitations to go dancing: I love dancing but I swear the next person who asks me to go dancing I’m going to scream at! My feet can only tolerate SO long in my stilettos! Christ. (I did get some sweet long red gloves with white fur on them….)
10. Ten years of wedded bliss: Doesn’t that suck? I mean he works every day to understand me. He’s cute, kind, and funny. He wants to really help the world. Ten years married. Sixteen years together. It’s enough to drive a girl mad. Mad I tell you.
11. Eleven Pairs of Hanky Panky thongs: Well, eleven colors of Hanky Panky lace thongs. I bet you are feeling my suckatude over this.
12. Twelve-10 dollar bills, the cost of the red bra I want for Christmas: Ok, it’s a bit of a long shot, but I’m hoping to find this beauty in my stocking…. And that would suck.
13. Thirteen ways I make my life suck:
- I make choices every day to make certain that I stay happy.
- I don’t waste time on whining, complaining or negative people.
- I keep my long and short term goals in front of me every day.
- I have been tremendously blessed to have been born in the western part of the United States.
- I am very careful with my media diet. I stay informed without being overstimulated.
- When I take myself too seriously, my friends slap me (literally and figuratively) on the back of the head. I return the favor.
- Nothing’s easy, but the outcome is always worth it.
- I surround myself with positive, forward thinking people.
- I refuse to suffer needlessly thus I am vigorous about my mental and verbal language.
- I move my body every day.
- I spent at least a half hour outside every day.
- I laugh at myself and everyone around me all the time.
- I get to write and read blogs every single day.
This Thursday Thirteen has been all tongue in cheek. I hope it doesn’t seem like bragging. This is my life, and my attitude. I could tell you about how I’ve suffer, but really who cares? The past is over. It’s up to me now.
I can only hope that, in the upcoming year, your life sucks as much as my life does. We shall both be blessed.
