Can’t argue with the New York Times

The NY Times ran a contest to determine what is the best American Novel in the last 25 years. (Click here for the story). The winner? Toni Morrison’s Beloved
I loved this book. It’s one of the books that encouraged me to become a psychotherapist. It beautifully displays the process of Multi-generational transmission process - the idea that the unresolved issues and/or traumas are literally visited upon the children. It’s also a thoughtful, interesting book about people who are rarely discussed in American society. If you haven’t had a chance to read it, I would strongly encourage you to check it out!
