Looking for a new God?
Here’s a Monday distraction for you! Have you heard of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM)? Bobby Henderson was between jobs after graduating from college. He decided to write the Kansas State Board of Education to discuss intelligent design and his idea that the world was created by the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
In order to check out his ideas, Ricardo Baca of the Denver Post and I went to an suburban chain spaghetti restaurant recently to see if we could find the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Frightened that our urban skills might not help us, we invited Ricardo’s entire family to act as our suburban guides. Sadly, we were not touched by the FSM’s noodly appendage. We did, however, trigger traumatic flashbacks in one member of the party as he was tortured by going to this same restaurant as a child. We can only assume the the Flying Spaghetti Monster was there in spirit to help this person through the trauma.
