What makes you anxious?
Friend of the Grove, Carla Wills-Brandon, is looking into writing a book about anxiety. She asked people to answer the following questions. This is what I said:
1.) What makes you anxious? Dating, work, how you look, etc.,
2.) What is your definition of anxiety?
3.) What do you do to cope with anxiety?
1.) What makes you anxious? Dating, work, how you look, etc.,
Feeling like I am not enough for someone else. So I worry about meeting deadlines, disappointing people and almost never confront someone who has disappointed me.
.2.) What is your definition of anxiety?
Completely losing the present moment to focus on an inner thought, image, worry or memory while feeling a sense of dread or fear.
3.) What do you do to cope with anxiety?
I drink!
Just kidding. I exercise daily. Manage my diet. I meditate when I have a chance. I try to focus on living a whole life and being a whole being. When that doesn’t work? (to me that’s the interesting question) I allow myself to feel anxious knowing that my anxiety is part of my humanity and will pass soon.
Carla is doing a survey so if you write your answers to these questions here, I’ll forward them along!
