It’s been a while…

Gosh, it’s hard to believe I haven’t posted in over 2 months. I apologize. Here’s a brief update:

1. I have continued with my “running” program and am up to 4 minutes with 2 minutes rest done 5 times. This has progressed slowly because I have been fighting the flu all summer. I am enjoying running now that the weather is cooler. I can’t imagine running in the snow, but we’ll see. I don’t see myself as a “runner” but it’s nice to get out a few times a week.

2. I have continued on Dr. Shari’s medium glycemic diet. I found that I need to give myself a day off a week. Otherwise I start feeling sorry for myself. It’s working well. I am at a set point pound wise, but I imagine I’ll start losing again as the fall progresses.

3. I forget every single week to get my blood work done. I know it’s really bad, and I am embarrassed to write it here. I just forget until I have already eaten. (It’s supposed to be a fasting blood test.) The lab isn’t open on the weekends so I have to do it some week day.

4. I haven’t figured out where or what the “hypertension clinic” is at Kaiser. I must admit that I haven’t tried really hard. I think I am a bit “doctored out”.

That’s the update. Overall things are moving slowly in the direction of better health. Thanks for reading!
